My latest 3d portrait is of Geoff Anderson, a good friend I have made since moving to Vancouver. I was really looking forward to doing this portrait because I knew his beard was going to be such a challenge and I am really happy how it turned out.
The hair/beard was created with X-Gen and V-Ray's amazing hair shader. It was modelled and textured in Maya and Mudbox, no scans were used, it was rendered with V-Ray, touch ups and colour corrections done in Photoshop. The workflow was using GPU rendering, I have 4 graphic cards from Nvidia (3Xp6000+p4000) to help render and I am using a Lenovo workstation.
