3D Portrait of my brother Richard Spriggs. I've explored many different styles of lighting throughout my portraits, from Rembrandt lighting, to loop lighting, paramount lighting, flat lighting, below light, and split lighting. For this portrait I explored the checkerboard lighting, the contrasts are dark, light, dark, light. It is a great technique to have a more dramatic lighting style while keeping the subject easy to read. Created in Maya, Mudbox, V-Ray RTX GPU, photoshop, no scans.
